Meet the Quartet

The Avoca String Quartet, based in Dublin, was founded in 2005 and performs at wedding ceremonies, receptions, corporate events and parties all across Ireland. They specialize in church music for weddings. The members of the group are all in their own rights accomplished musicians.

    Denice Doyle (violin) one of Ireland's most talented and versatile violinists enjoys a career as an established soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician. She has performed extensively around Ireland and the world including the prestigious Carnegie Hall, New York and as soloist with the RTE National Symphony at the National Concert hall.

    Etaoin Gray 2nd Violin

    Etaoin Gray (2nd violin) a Trinity College graduate, is an experienced performer and music teacher. She has performed with numerous acts including ‘Ham Sandwich’ & ‘Rodrigo y Gabriela’. Etaoin has performed in venues including Áras an Uachtarain, Slane Castle, The Olympia, Vicar street and at Electric Picnic.

  • Stefan French | Avoca String Quartet



    Stefan French Viola

    Stefan French (viola) is a DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama graduate and has been playing for over 15 years. Stefan is also an award-winning film composer. His work has been recorded worldwide including by the Hollywood Studio Symphony at 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles.

    Megan Sherwood Cello

    Megan Sherwood (cello) studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin with Bill Butt, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance degree and a Diploma in Music Teaching and Performance. From an early age she showed promise, winning several scholarships and awards.

The Avoca String Quartet is managed by Avoca Music Productions, a Dublin based artist managment agency.
