About the Quartet
The Avoca String Quartet, based in Dublin, was founded in 2005 and performs at wedding ceremonies, receptions, corporate events and parties all across Ireland. They are a professional string quartet that specialise in church music for weddings. The members of the group are all in their own rights accomplished musicians.

Denice Doyle 1st Violin/Manager
Denice Doyle (violin) is one of the most established, versatile, and virtuosic violinists of her generation. Denice performs extensively as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician and has won awards as a multi-instrumentalist, receiving top prizes for her violin, piano and organ performances. Denice is in-demand internationally as a recording artist within the music, opera, television, theatre, and film industry. Denice regularly appears as a soloist on both RTÉ Radio and Television. Denice has toured Ireland, Europe, North America, and Asia, performing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York, the National Centre for Performing Arts, Beijing, and the National Concert Hall, Dublin, as well as stages and theatres of Broadway and the West End. Her career has included sold-out solo recitals globally, special performances for Pope Francis in Ireland, collaborations with artists such as Andre Bocelli, George Michael, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Sinead O’ Connor, U2, Hozier, Paolo Nutini, Van Morrison, Gavin James, Tom Jones, Father John Misty, Kodaline, Shane McGowan, Paul Brady, Westlife, Aslan, Curtis Stigers, Imelda May, Eddi Reader, Celtic Woman, Bill Bailey, The Coronas, Daniel O’ Donnell, Nathan Carter, John Sheehan and Declan O’ Rourke to name but a few. Denice was invited by RTE to represent Ireland with her virtuosic violin playing for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark. Denice is also a regular performer with artists for festivals including many performances at Electric Picnic in Ireland. Denice has also regularly performed for the President of Ireland in Áras an Uachtaráin and for functions held by Uachtarán na hÉireann. Denice holds a First-Class Honours Degree from the Royal Irish Academy of Music and a First-Class Honours Masters Degree from the University of Limerick where she was awarded the RTÉ Lyric FM Scholarship for her masters studies under the tutelage of the internally renowned, Professor Mariana Sirbu. Denice is Music Director, Organist and Choir Director of St. Francis Xavier Church, Gardiner Street, Dublin and Resident Organist of the Holy Child Church, Whitehall, Dublin. Denice is an in-demand Church Musician, Music Director and Conductor throughout Ireland with her extensive liturgical knowledge and involvement in Diocesan liturgies for the past two decades.

David Doyle Cellist/Manager
David Doyle (Cellist) is an Award-Winning Professional Irish Cellist and one of the country’s most in-demand recording and performing artists. David is an established soloist, chamber and orchestral musician around the world, as well as a much sought-after music arranger. David performs regularly as a multi-instrumentalist and has won numerous first prize awards and scholarships for his cello, piano and organ playing, including all first prize awards at the Feis Ceoil Competition Ireland. David regularly appears as a soloist on both RTÉ Television and Radio. David performs throughout Ireland and has toured extensively in the United Kingdom, Europe and America. After frequent performances in LA, David was honoured to be invited to perform for the 2019 Oscars Awards party, The Oscar Wilde Awards in the critically acclaimed J. J. Abrahams Production Studio ‘The Bad Robot’ in association with ABC Studios in Los Angeles, California. David has frequently worked alongside International artists, such as Kings of Leon, Michael Bublé and Paolo Nutini, in addition to Ireland’s top producers and performers, including Kodaline, Gavin James, U2, The Cranberries, Aslan, The Coronas, The Blizzards, Ryan Sheridan, Róisín O, Rea Garvey and Aidan Gillen to name but a few. David collaborates closely with top renowned Irish Producer Phil Magee - composing, performing and arranging new sounds for international artists, Irish artists and up and coming new talent in Ireland. David holds a First Class Honours Degree in Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where he also received his Licentiate Teaching Diploma with distinction. David was then awarded the RTÉ Lyric FM Music Scholarship for his master’s studies at the University of Limerick where he received a First Class Master’s Degree under the tutelage of Ferenc Szucs. David is Musical Director, Choir Director, Conductor and Resident Organist of both, Church Of Our Lady Mother Of Divine Grace, Raheny and St Francis Of Assisi Parish, Priorswood, Dublin. David is highly sought after in the Dublin Diocese and around the country for his liturgical knowledge, performing and directing/conducting skills.
The Avoca String Quartet is managed by Denice Doyle, a Dublin based multi-instrumentalist and events co-ordinator.
