Etaoin Gray 2nd Violin
Etaoin Gray (2nd violin) a Trinity College graduate, is an experienced performer and music teacher. She has performed with numerous acts including ‘Ham Sandwich’ & ‘Rodrigo y Gabriela’. Etaoin has performed in venues including Áras an Uachtarain, Slane Castle, The Olympia, Vicar street and at Electric Picnic.
Etaoin Gray (2nd violin) is a Trinity College graduate where she completed her B.A. in Music Education in 2006. During this time, Etaoin studied under renowned violin teachers Micheál d’Arcy and Eyal Kless at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Etaoin is currently studying classical violin under the tuition of Sebastian Petiet and is playing on a beautiful hand-made violin by Connor Russell. Etaoin began her violin studies at the age of 3 under the Suzuki method. Traditional fiddle is also a passion of Etaoin’s and studied this discipline in Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, Monkstown, Dublin. At the age of 12, Etaoin received music student of the year award and by her early teens, Etaoin was performing nationally and internationally with the Dublin Youth Orchestras. Etaoin has performed with international acts including Rodrigo y Gabriella, Sharon Shannon, Tommy Hafferty Tucan and Eamon Campbell from The Dubliners. Etaoin was also a member of a Grupa Ceoil that won the finals of the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann. Etaoin has conducted and played in numerous musical productions including “Les Miserables” and “Westside Story”. Etaoin performs regularly with a 16 piece band which has played at the Trinity Ball, Castle Palooza, Electric Picnic, Dublin Castle, National Concert Hall, Whelan’s, Tripod and the Button Factory. Etaoin has recorded in Windmill Lane and recorded and performed on 2FM and Today FM. Etaoin is a passionate fundraiser and has organised events and concerts for charities including the Dublin Simon Community, Child Aid, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and Oxfam Ireland.
